Homo Faber 2024 welcomes the Barena Association
The Michelangelo Foundation is grateful to support the work of Barena Association with a charity event during Homo Faber 2024. The Barena Association is a Swiss based non-profit organisation that support innovative sustainability projects that protect vulnerable salt marshes from untimely erosion, wildlife from extinction and depopulation. Programme of the 24 September 2024: 5PM Visit of Homo Faber 2024: The Journey of Life. 7PM Talk with Alberto Cavalli, Executive Director of the Michelangelo Foundation and Allison Zurfluh, Founder of Barena Association. 8PM Degustation dinner at La Vela by Ristorante Local, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Venice

Ristorante La Vela
Treat yourself to a fine dining experience at the island’s yacht club. Enjoy contemporary Venetian dishes by Salvatore Sodano – head chef of Local, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Venice – in a space exquisitely decorated by Christofle, Dante Negro, De Gournay, Fortuny and Morelato. Choose from three set menus which combine flair and skill with the finest produce.

La Cicchetteria
Experience the Venetian tradition of cicchetti, small plates of tasty bite-sized snacks, similar to Spanish tapas. Located in the Via Arno Salon and run by San Giorgio Café, La Cicchetteria is based on the charm and authenticity of Venice’s neighbourhood bars, and offers a colourful selection of cicchetti as well as regional wine and cocktails. Come for a mid-afternoon pit stop or for an aperitivo at the end of your visit.
