Is Homo Faber open to the public?+
Yes, Homo Faber is open to the public, however a paid ticket with a dedicated time slot is required. You can buy your ticket here. Please bring it with you (digital or in print) to gain entry.
Is there a minimum age to attend?+
There is no minimum age to attend, children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.
What are the opening times?+
1 - 30 September 2024, 10am-7pm daily.
Where is Homo Faber?+
Homo Faber 2024 will take place on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, in the heart of the Venice lagoon, a five minute boat ride from San Marco square.
Can I access the Stanze del Vetro?+
The Stanze del Vetro is a multi-year cultural project dedicated to international artists who have used glass throughout their careers. It is not part of Homo Faber 2024. It is open every day except Wednesdays, and admission is free. See more here: https://lestanzedelvetro.org/.
Can I access the island with my own boat?+
Only drop off is allowed at the Homo Faber Shuttle dock near Lo Squero. Please be mindful of the Shuttle that has priority to dock.
Can I access the Vatican Pavilion?+
The ticket office for the Vatican Chapels is in the foyer of the Sala Carnelutti, to the left of the Basilica di San Giorgio Maggiore. Guided tours are available every day. See more here: https://www.visitcini.com/.
How can I get to the San Giorgio Maggiore Island?+
With this ticket, you can use our free Homo Faber shuttle that will take you from San Marco-San Zaccaria (Pier B1) to San Giorgio every 30 minutes starting at 9:30am. Last departure from San Giorgio Maggiore at 7:15pm. Otherwise, you may purchase an ACTV ticket, Vaporetto n°2 stops at San Giorgio. From Marco Polo Airport: Alilaguna Blue Line or Red Line to San Marco.

Is there access for disabled visitors?+
There is a lift to reach the upper floors. The Staircase of Sala del Cenacolo is equipped with a stair lift. To facilitate access, please communicate your arrival at least one day in advance to the email address homofaber@vivaticket.com
Can I bring a stroller?+
Yes. However, parents should be careful manoeuvering the stroller in the exhibition spaces.
Can I bring my pet?+
Pets, even small ones, are not permitted. Exceptions are made for guide dogs for the blind, provided they have a leash and a muzzle. To facilitate access, please communicate your arrival at least one day in advance to the email address homofaber@vivaticket.com
Can I sketch in the exhibition spaces?+
Sketching is welcomed throughout most of the exhibition except in some spaces where a sign indicates the specific rules.
Can I smoke?+
It is strictly forbidden to smoke in the external and internal areas of the Giorgio Cini Foundation.
Can I take pictures?+
Taking photos of artworks and spaces is permitted, but ONLY for personal purposes. The use of flash is always prohibited. The use of photographic tripod and/or professional equipment is forbidden. Any use of professional equipment must be authorised by the management. Use of extendable selfie sticks is prohibited.
What are the baggage rules?+
Please do not bring any large or bulky items such as suitcases, large backpacks, packages or containers. Our lockers are small and very limited.
What are the security rules?+
In order to ensure visitors' safety and protect the artworks, it is necessary to hand over knives, scissors and any type of metal tools to the ticket office.
Where do I leave waste?+
No waste of any kind can be abandoned in the exhibtion. Rubbish bins are placed at the ticket office, the toilets and around the gardens.
I want to change my ticket timeframe, what can I do?+
Your ticket is personal and non-transferable, non-modifiable and non-refundable.
Shall I book my ticket online or onsite?+
We recommend you book online to guarantee access to the exhibition on your preferred date and time, to access the free shuttle and to avoid more queues.
What are the other activities I can do to complement my visit to Homo Faber?+
At Homo Faber 2024, you will have the opportunity to participate in craft workshops, a dedicated F&B offering as well as private visits. You can also visit Homo Faber In Città, exploring Venice in a new light, with over 70 artisans' workshops opening their doors.
Can I eat at Homo Faber 2024?+
Yes, there are a variety of restaurants where you can have a small bite or have a seated lunch. Please note that it is not possible to bring in your own food and alcoholic beverages.
How long does the visit of the exhibition last?+
It is recommended to plan at least 2 hours.
Are there guided visits?+
There are no radio guides. We have Young Ambassadors in each room who will be there to answer any question relating the Homo Faber 2024. However, you can plan a private visit to Homo Faber 2024, by contacting : privatevisit@homofaber.com
